   Zhilin Xiao 

   Pianist 

Zhilin Xiao began her musical journey at the age of five and has since established herself as an exceptional classical pianist. At the age of six, she was the winner of the Beijing international competition and recognized for her natural artistic instinct and ability to push the boundaries of her musicianship. During her studies at the University of Toronto under the study of Lydia Wong, Zhilin has a deep enthusiasm for chamber and collaborative music, she collaborated with the University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra (UTSO) as a piano accompanist and worked alongside many outstanding musicians who share her passion for music. As a dedicated pianist, she won the KPU International Music Festival in 2021 and was awarded a scholarship from the University of Toronto's Faculty of Music, where she continues to refine her artistry and skills in piano performance.

In addition to her playing, Zhilin is an experienced piano instructor who guides beginner and intermediate students in developing their technical skills and musicality. Her goal is to become a university professor, as she is committed to both performance and music education. She strives to inspire audiences and students with her expressive playing and thoughtful approach to music-making. She is fluent in English and Mandarin and has basic proficiency in French.

Stay Connected

  • Zhilin will participate in August 2025 at the Francis Poulenc Academy in France, running from the 18th to the 28th. The program will feature duo collaborations showcasing melodies by French composers. Stay tune for more informations!

  • This coming Thursday, the 13th @12pm, she'll be playing at the Noon Hour Concert at Metropolitan United Church located in downtown Toronto.
